Interest rises from the Arabic world for the health tourism fair in Istanbul

TURAP Chairman of the Board of Directors Sabuhi Attar, stated '' Turkiye is a pioneer in the health sector. Wealthy tourists in Arabic countries choose the United Kingdom, Germany or the USA to spend their money. With this fair, we will convince the demographic from Arabic countries and Turkic Republics to choose Turkiye for health services.'' 

 22 ARABIC COUNTRIES WILL BE ATTENDING

Health tourism which has gained quite a bit attention over the last few years, the ''1. Turabexpo Healthy Tourism Fair'' will take place in Istanbul on the 22nd and 23rd of February. The fair will be organized by TURAP with the support of the Ministry of Commerce of the Republic of Turkiye, and sponsored by Health and Life Insurance. The attendants who are pioneers of the health sector from 22 Arabic countries and 5 Turkic Republics aside from participants who are distinguished members of the hospitals and medical firms in Turkiye will attent to the Fair. 

TURAP Chairman of the Board of Directors Sabuhi Attar stated, they aim to contribute to Turkiye's brand and popularity image regarding health tourism. Attar stressed, they have organized important summits between Turkish-Arab countries and Turkic Republics for many years and added ''Turkiye is making a difference in the health sector. We can call it a chimneyless industry. Because it is not a doctrine based on imports. Turkiye is very successful in health tourism. We have very good hospitals.'' 

''ARABS WILL COME TO TURKIYE INSTEAD OF THE USA''

Attar stated that visitors who come for health treatments regarding the health sector mostly visit from Arab and Central Asian Turkish geography.

''Rich Arabic tourists, do not really know the health sector in Turkiye. They go to the United Kingdom, Germany or the USA to spend their money. We will lead rich Arabs to prefer Turkiye for health services. This is a huge sector. Turkiye's biggest hospitals will be participating. There are medical firms. There is a lot of attention for Turkiye from Arabic countries. Stomach surgery, hair transplants, aesthetic surgeries gain a lot of attention. There is not enough representation for Turkish health sector in Arabic countries. We need to represent it better. We have very important academics, very big brands. We can carry health tourism to a very fine point. If we advertise strongly and share our brand, we can make huge profits from health tourism and attract tourists from Arabic countries and Central Asia.'' 

INVESTMENT WILL DOUBLE

Attar who says that Arab tourists are aiming to double their spendings in Turkiye, ''Spendings of Arabic tourists who come to Turkiye ,regarding health tourism, was about a billion dollars. There is an estimate of a thousand dollars per individual. We are working to increase these numbers. We need to get the individual spendings up to a minimum of two thousand dollars. We are aiming that health tourism will welcome two million tourists in 2023. All of our efforts with our fairs are to accomplish these goals.'' 

HEALTH INSURANCE WILL BE A CENTER OF THE SECTOR

''We have reached a distinguished, serious community and firms both from Turkic Republics and Arabic countries'' says Attar and follows:

''In this fair, we have put 'Health Insurance' on the agenda which is an important subject. Insurance will be a step that will take health tourism further. The main sponsor of our fair 'Demir Health and Life Inssurance’ will present an important package for the Arabic tourists. In this context, a good service will be provided to the incoming tourists in our hospitals. There will be joint panels with the Ministry of Commerce. After the fair, on February 24, a special group of 50-100 people will organize special delegations and visit the hospitals. Companies operating in fields such as cosmetics will also be able to take part in the Fair."
